Raphael took Josie's hands into his. Peace flooded her at his touch. All her concerns and worries fled for a moment, and she uttered a small sound of contentment. |

When Josie opened her eyes she stood next to D.J.'s bed. The girl tossed and turned, twisting her legs tighter and tighter in the sheets. The way she slept tonight was a far cry from the way she'd slept the first night Josie had watched her. Then D.J. had been as still as death. Now she mumbled and sweated and moaned, as if in pain. |
